What happens in our General French classes?

These courses are ideal if you are looking to have consistent progression, gain real-life skills, and prepare for exams.
Our courses include regular assessment, access to the Student Portal and personalised advice throughout your learning journey.

  • General French classes are hybrid (online via Zoom and onsite once a month).
  • Beginners to Proficiency level (A1 level to C1 level).
  • Our academic year is organised in four 10-week terms. See the calendar and dates of onsite classes here.
  • Each course runs for a full year. Classes are designed so that students can join in any term.

A1 - Elementary

Elementary A1 - Complete Beginners

Adult Group Classes- General French
Designed to help beginners acquire the basics of the language, this course is perfect for new students with no French knowledge.

At the end of this term you will be able to greet people, introduce yourself and introduce your friends and family. View the Autumn scheme of work here.

Designed for students who have an intermediate to advanced level of French. This course will prepare you to converse in a more colloquial and idiomatic way during informal interactions with French speakers. You will be able to effectively communicate in personal, professional, and intellectual situations, and adapt your vocabulary to the context.
