The FLAM programme (Français Langue Maternelle) was set up by the French government a couple of years ago for families living abroad. It enables French and binational children aged 4 to 16 years to practice the French language and to keep in contact with French culture.
Les Petits Caméléons, thanks to the FLAM programme, enables children whose parents live in Cambridge and who are being educated in local English schools, to practice French as an extra-curricular activity.
Les Petits Caméléons has an exclusive partnership with the Alliance Française as their teachers are those who teach the children. The teachers follow a curriculum approved by the French ‘Education Nationale’.
Classes for younger children (5 to 7 years old) focus mainly on spoken French, while classes for the older children (8 and above) allow them to practice both spoken and written French and to read in French.
