How we are different

Our approach aims to create a friendly environment, where children can learn and play without realising they are being immersed in the French language.

We feel it is important for children to feel comfortable in a French-speaking environment, in order to respond naturally to our team of native French teachers happily, and to play, sing, draw and paint just as they would at home.

In order to keep parents up to date and encourage closer collaboration, we will occasionally send emails with progress notes and topics covered in the class.

Structure and content of the workshops

Behind the relaxed and playful atmosphere, there is a carefully designed structure to the workshops. Topics are presented step-by-step and new vocabulary is introduced while recurring themes and games reinforce the learning process.

The attraction of these classes is very much reflected through the commitment and enthusiasm of our team of teachers.

All of our teachers are French native speakers, trained to interact in French, encouraging and helping children to understand and express themselves in this new language.

We offer classes specifically aimed at children between 11 and 18 who speak and understand French. There is no need to sit an exam.

➡️ ✅ The academic programme of these specialist classes aims to improve proficiency in both written and spoken French. Resources used are authentic documents relating to French and Francophone culture, daily life and current affairs, similar to those used in French schools.

➡️ ✅ Grammar skills are also a priority, we aim to enhance students’ written and oral mastery of the language by studying and practising the various components of French grammar.

➡️ ✅ Classes are also designed to develop the skills required for the DELF (Diplôme d’études en Langue Française)* as well as meeting the requirements for British public exams (GCSE, A-Level, IB). As an official exam centre for the DELF, we offer students the significant benefit of teachers who are also qualified and experienced examiners licensed by the examining body, the CIEP (Centre International d’études Pédagogiques).

* The DELF is the official diploma certifying competence in French language, awarded by the French Ministère de l’éducation nationale, de l’enseignement supérieur et de la recherche (Ministry for Schools, Higher Education and Research). It permits holders whose schooling has been in other countries to study at French universities, among other benefits.
