During the night of 18th-19th of September, a hurricane of unprecedented severity destroyed the city of Roseau, capital of the island of Dominica. Some employees of the local Alliance Française, which is situated in Roseau, still cannot reach their homes. The premises of the Alliance Française itself have been very extensively damaged, and are currently unusable.
The Alliance Française Foundation estimates the costs of repairing the damage to the premises at around 50,000 euro, and is therefore launching an international appeal to raise money to help l’Alliance Française Roseau return to working conditions as soon as possible.
